She’s an inspirational Gift to me

I first heard about this lady through a fellow blogger, Pamela Slim. Her name is Glenda Watson Hyatt. I was intrigued by this lady’s story and her goal of getting her autobiography published by her 40th birthday. She missed that deadline just by a one month. This week, her book, "I'll Do It Myself" was published, and it would make a great Christmas present.

Here is what Pamela Slim says about Glenda and her book:

[It] is Glenda’s life story of living a strong, sassy and courageous life with Cerebral Palsy. She has written it all using only her left thumb. A great gift for parents of children with disabilities, it is also a great, uplifting story for anyone about what you can do to overcome obstacles in your life with some grit, humor, fierce will and determination. I personally want this to become a bestseller and I want to see Glenda on Oprah...

A lack of oxygen at birth left Glenda with little use of her hands, the inability to walk and speech that was difficult for others to understand. But it didn't hold her back from experiencing a full and happy life. In school, Glenda was integrated into a regular classroom; she earned the Canada Cord, the highest award in Girl Guides; and she won the Outstanding Junior Student Award. And this gutsy young red-head even won a gold medal in horseback riding! Glenda is now married and works as a writer, especially on the topic of disabilities.
If you'd like to learn more about Glenda and purchase her book, here is a link to her web site: http://www.booksbyglenda.com/index.htm

Future Me

Personal Recommendations for books, music, websites and all fun resources!

Future Me It’s a simple website but it’s sweet. It allows you to write a letter to yourself and pick a date to send it in the future. Whether it's only a few months down the road or a few years, this insightful tool can be a real eye-opener and giggle-getter when it's delivered to you.

I remember when I was a high school, my English teacher had us write a letter to ourselves and promised to deliver it to us ten years later. It was hilarious to read at age 28 what I'd written at age 18.

After you've written your letter and picked a date, (I would encourage you to write a few and send them at different dates) you can choose to keep it private or your words of wisdom can be made available for public viewing. It's not only interesting to read what other people wrote to themselves, but their thoughts may give you an idea or two of what to include in your own letter. Just remember to enter an email address that you'll be hanging onto otherwise your memorable musings will be sent out into cyberspace and you'll be left empty-handed on delivery day.

I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH THE RAIN, Mariah Carey

Here is my favourite song that inspires self-esteem?

Each month we will be featuring a song that inspires self-esteem.
Send your suggestions to successezine@gmail.com and YOU could win a FREE T-Shirt!

Ho...ho...
Yeah...
Ho...ho...oh...ooh...ooh...
When you get caught in the rain
With nowhere to run
When you're distraught and in pain
Without anyone
We keep prayin' to saved
But nobody comes
And you feel so far away
That you just can't
Find your way home
You can get there alone
It's okay
What you say
I can make it through the rain
I can stand up once again
On my own and I know
That I'm strong enough to mend
And every time I feel afraid
I hold tighter to my faith
And I live one more day
And I make it through the rain
Hoo...hoo...doo doo doo
Ooh...hoo...mmm...hmm...
And if you keep falling down
Don't you dare give in
You will arise safe and sound
So keep pressing on
Step fastly
And you'll find what you need
To prepare
What you say
I can make it through the rain
I can stand up once again
On my own and I know
That I'm strong enough to mend
And every time I feel afraid
I hold tighter to my faith
And I live one more day
And I make it through the rain
And when the wind moves
And shadows grow close
Don't be afraid
There's nothing you can't face
And sure they tell you
You'll never pull through
Don't hesitate
Stay calm and sane
I can make it through the rain
I can stand up once again
On my own and I know
That I'm strong enough to mend
And every time I feel afraid
I hold tighter to my faith
And I live one more day
And I make it through the rain
I can make it through the rain
Can stand up once again
And I live one more day
And I'll make it through the rain
Ooh, yes, you can
Mmm...hmm...
You can make it through the rain

Beautiful Inside
By Louise
Doesn't matter about the clothes
that your dressed in
It doesn't matter 'bout the
colour of your skin
All that matters is you're
beautiful inside

Uhah yeah

Just because you've got
the looks and the body
Just because you've got
the time and the money
Still remember to be
beautiful inside

Looking from the inside out
Tell me what you find
Nothing means a thing
if your not, beautiful inside

Try givin' up, The make up
Try givin' up, The dressin' up
Try givin' up, The pushouts
And try livin' up
To higher aspirations

You don't have to be
a victim of your ego
No you don't have to be self centred or deceitful
You'll make it happen
if your, beautiful inside

Looking from the inside out
Tell me what you find
Nothing means a thing
if your not, beautiful inside

Try givin' up, The make up
Try givin' up, The dressin' up
Try givin' up, The pushouts
And try livin' up
To higher aspirations

Try living with a heart to give
instead of always taking
Respect each others right to be
because we should all be making
Little time in all our lives is full of inspiration
Keep reaching for
Higher Aspirations

Try givin' up, The make up
Try givin' up, The dressin' up
Try givin' up, The pushouts
And try livin' up
To higher aspirations

Try givin' up, The make up
Try givin' up, The dressin' up
Try givin' up, The pushouts
And try livin' up
To higher aspirations

Absolutely Not
By Deborah Cox
Always waitin' for someone
To make me happy, pick me up
I realize that someone is me
What you call life, that ain't livin'
Bless the child that's got his own
It's my season, now I stand alone
Just thought that I would let you know
Some things you just can't control
[Chorus:]
Should I wear my hair in a ponytail?
Should I dress myself up in chanel?
Do I measure me by what you think?
Absolutely not, absolutely not
If I go to work in a mini-skirt
Am I givin' you the right to flirt?
I won't compromise my point of view
Absolutely not, absolutely not
Told myself I won't complain
But some things have got to change
Not gon' be a victim of
All your social push and shove
Right or wrong, you judge the same
My picture never fit your frame
What you thought, you'll never know
You can't see me with your mind closed
[Repeat Chorus]
Now I see, life means more to me
More than fancy clothes
More than you'll ever know
All the ugly words that I heard you say
Made me stronger everyday
Now I live my life for me
[Repeat Chorus 3x]
Oh, ooh
Woah, oh, ooh
All my ladies say
Oh, ooh
Woah, oh, ooh
Absolutely not, absolutely not
All my ladies say
Oh, ooh
Woah, oh, ooh
All my ladies say
Absolutely not, absolutely not

Being You in Your Anxiety and Panic

Well don’t be scared, here a few simple tests I will like you to do. They are simple, straightforward and test that will test your abilities, skills, qualities, and success.

Measuring your level of discomforts: Test
Do you panic each time a problem comes around? Yes or No
Do you feel extremely uncomfortable dealing with confrontations and problems? Yes or NO
Do you feel slight discomforts while dealing with problems or confrontations? Yes or NO
Do you feel comfortable dealing with problems and/or confrontations? Yes or No

1. IF you panic each time a problem comes around you will need to learn to understand, accept, and work with your discomfort. Thus, you are afraid of your discomfort, since you are not, connected with your body and mind.

2. If you feel extremely uncomfortable dealing with confrontations and problems, you will need to learn from the first recommendation, i.e. learning to accept your discomforts, yet you will need to understand that confrontations and problems are not all bad. In other words, constructive and positive thinking can reduce your stress level when problems and confrontations come around.

3. If you feel slight discomforts while confronting or dealing with problems, thus, you are doing ok, however you can learn from answers one and two to improve your level of stress.

4. If you feel comfortable dealing with problems, discomforts, and confrontations, continue what you are doing while learning to grow to success.

Handling Situations: Test Ability
Do you panic at what time you travel a few extra miles away from home? IS your level of discomforts non-existing, mild, or extreme?
Do you feel uncomfortable when on the phone talking to answering machines?
Do you find it difficult to meet people for the first time?
Do you feel uncomfortable while walking alone?
Do you feel discomfort while in crowds?
Can you go to a restaurant or movie alone without worrying?
How do you feel while dating a new person?

If you panic each time, you travel further than a few miles away from home you will need to check your imagination to make sure you have reality in check. You will also need to find comfort in your discomfort to get rid of anxiety and panic. This applies to mild and extreme cases; those of you feeling comfortable can turn to advice on other fears.

If you feel uncomfortable talking into answering machines, you may want to explore your mind to learn why. This is one of my problems, often because it frustrates me that I cannot talk to a person. I have many reasons and issues to overcome to battle this problem myself, so what I recommend to you is exploring why, when, and what.

Do you find it difficult to meet people for the first time? I had this problem, and it was major big. Often I would panic and feel anxious when a new person came along. What I did may not work for you, but hey, I will give it to you anyway. First, learn to tell yourself it’s safe and that you have permission to meet anyone you like. Remember, most people meeting you are nervous too, therefore relate, and associate.

If you feel uncomfortable while walking alone, again you want to check your imagination for reality to see if true danger is present. If you feel uncomfortable in crowds, consider at some point in time you will be in crowds, thus learning to feel comfortable with your discomfort can help.

If you can go to a restaurant or movie alone without worrying, read about how to cope and understand fear of what you are afraid of, instead of taking advice on the topic. If you feel comfortable on a first date, thus you relate to your discomforts well. Remember, most of us are uneasy on any first date, but it is how you deal with it that determines your level of anxiety and panic. Just be you and you will do well.

Flirting with the Body to Express Languages through Magic

How to read the movements of body languages for romance

If you want a person to notice you, thus it is important that you understand the most common body languages to be able to read the person’s language, as well as learn the proper body languages that will make an impression on the party of interest.

In the game of romance there is a wrong and right solution to approach a person. Ladies can make mistakes if they are sending messages with the body to a man, especially if they turn as though they are walking away from the person. Women can also mislead a man of interest by sending a signal with the eyes, such as scanning the area. If you fake a smile it will probably turn him off.

On the other hand, if you move up closer to the party of interest, likely you will send a good message. If you smile without forcing or acting, it will also leave a lasting impression. Also, if you make frequent contact with the eyes, i.e. staring into his eyes, likely he is going to see that you are interested in him. If you slightly tilt the head to one side or the other, then he may see that you are interested in him and what he has to say to you.

Women often show signs of interest by winking, glancing sideways, while acting coy and flirting. The woman may also tilt the head slightly lowering it, which let’s the man know that she is timid, yet ready to speak up.

If a woman is ready to mate, she may touch her leg which is often exposed, rubbing it smoothly. Some women will dangle the shoes off the toes, or else remove a piece of jewelry to let the man know she wants intimacy at a different level. If a woman touches a man, such as on the knee or higher part of the leg, be prepared. Other suggestive gestures include the parting of the lips while licking the lips immediately afterwards.

Women are wise to avoid tilting the head backwards, since it can be interpreted as a symbol of dominance or superiority. Men likewise could advantage by avoiding this gesture.

Men can show interest by glancing into your eyes for a short length of time. They can connect with your eyes, while gazing in another direction momentarily and then coming back to your gaze. This is a common sign sent by men, which according to philosophers means that he is ready to get more acquainted with you.

If a man runs his fingers, hand through the hair, it is said to mean he wants you to see him at his best. If a man touches you on the shoulders, hand, or arms with a gentle touch, he is illustrating an interest. If the man moves up closer to you, leaning in as you speak, thus he is showing a sign of interest.

Men will also show signs of interest by fondling their jewelry, your jewelry or cigarettes. This means he is ready to become intimate with you in more ways than one. If a man slowly and in a lower tone speaks to you, thus he is opening the door for you to converse with him only, while leaving everyone out of your conversation.

While there are many body languages that may signify what a person is meaning, the only true way to tell how a person feels, thinks, or what there emotion status is, is to listen to them speak. Words can say a lot more than the body’s language.

Body Language Female Courtship Gestures

Body Language Magic (How to Read and Make Body Movements for Maximum Success) - How to be a Public Speaking Star

Like men, women also use the basic preening gestures, like fondling the hair, adjusting their clothing, putting hands on hips, pointing their body towards the male, extending intimate gaze, having increased eye contact etc. All these signs indicate that the woman is ready for some kind of non-physical relationship or just a conversation. That is with the exceptions. Some people pull their hair, which could indicate child abuse, or physical abuse, since it is a nervous gesture.

In addition, women may illustrate a need for attention as their pupils dilate and cheeks start glowing. Various other signals from a woman for such a relationship could be like sideways glances, or looking into the mirror frequently, crossing and uncrossing of legs in front of a male, caressing their thighs or calf or knee etc. also another commonly seen gesture is the position of footwear. If a woman is sitting with a man and her footwear is delicately balanced on her toe then it indicates a higher level of comfort in his company.

Some of the other gestures:

Hip Rolling:
This is one of the most commonly observable commercial gestures. It has been exploited by the models to gain attention on the ramp and in various advertisements, by movie stars and even by prostitutes to attract clients. This kind of an act is supposedly done by a female to increase her sex appeal. As a man acts out in such body language gesture, it indicates that he may be gay.

Wet Lips Gesture:

Some females wet their lips or put a lot of lipstick to give a wet appearance to them. This clearly gives out a sexual invitation. Most of the prostitutes use this kind of gesture to attract males or clients. Still, this does not always represent a sexual invitation, since some females merely conform to keeping up their looks, or else dressing for business.

Head Toss:

One can see this gesture resorted to by almost every woman. In this gesture, the woman flicks her head to toss her hair back over the shoulders or away from the face. Even women having short hair use this gesture in front of men. It clearly represents their interest in that man for some kind of a relationship.

Legs:

Sexually aggressive women can be often seen with their legs more widely open than their more conservative counterparts can. This kind of gesture can be observed even in presence of a male around.

Along with the above-described gesture, there are other gestures that women make with their legs. The most prominent ones being the gestures of leg crossing. At what time a leg is tucked up under the other and the knee points towards the person with whom she is, it indicates her interest in that person. In this position, the woman may expose her thighs to steal the attention of the guy whom she finds interesting. The more desirous may intentionally uncover her thighs to give a clear-cut signal.

Another position, which indicates her relaxed state, is the way she plays with her footwear. Often a woman constantly keeps on playing with it by thrusting her foot in and out of it. Often women cross their legs in such way that they are not too far away and still enough to attract a man’s interest.

Although these are the general gestures of most women but none of them should be taken for granted and one must apply some common sense and logic before approaching a female for any kind of relationship based on observation of above-mentioned gestures in body language magic.

Girls Can Blog Too.

Every day, blogs are created by people of all ages and
from all walks of life, but when it comes to blogging,
teen writers are truly on the cutting edge of the
movement. Because today's teenagers are the first
generation of people to have grown up using the
internet at every stage of their development, many
adolescents have a seemingly innate sense of how to use
web technology to express their innermost thoughts and
ideas. Older writers often experience a kind of learning
curve when they begin to blog, but many young people
find that using a word processor and blogging software
feels more natural and direct a mode of communication
than writing in a diary ever could.

One of the reasons why blogs have undergone a kind of
explosion in the teen community and are growing by
leaps and bounds is the fact that they provide a unique
mixture of visibility and anonymity. A teenager can
invite friends and peers to read his or her blog with a
simple email, thereby winning attention or possibly
even praise. Of course, with visibility usually comes the
possibility of embarrassment, but the fact that it is
possible to blog anonymously with an invented handle
or nickname negates a lot of the potential for
humiliation. Many a blogging teen lives in fear that a
parent or guardian will discover his or her blog, but by
publishing under an alias a teenager can spill his or her
secrets without fear of being traced.

Outside the world of blogging, teen writers often have
very limited opportunities to be published. Magazines
and journals are often reticent to publish young writers
who may not have as much credibility as older writers
with a lot of experience and extensive credits to their
names. This can discourage adolescents from writing or
from seeking chances to publish their work. By
blogging, young people can begin to gain a following of
readers without first having to win the attention and
support of an editor or publisher who may not be very
interested in teenaged authors.

Between the fact that blogs provide young people with a
chance to exercise their impressive technical aptitude,
to gain visibility without compromising privacy, and to
build a readership for their writing without having to
jump through the traditional hoops of the publishing
industry, it is little wonder that are so many teenagers
with blogs. For some teenagers, blogging is even a very
social endeavor that allows them to meet people with
similar interests from all over the world. Many a
blogging teen has discovered that having a weblog on
the internet is a great way to explore self-expression
and, often, to win positive feedback from new friends.

Changing How You Eat

As you may know, not fueling up with the right
nutrients can affect how well your body performs
and your overall fitness benefits. Even though
healthy eating is important, there are myths that
hinder your performance if you listen to them.

Below, you'll find some myth busters on healthy
eating.

1. Working out on an empty stomach.

If you hear a rumbling noise in your stomach, the
rumbling is trying to tell you something. Without
listening to them, you are forcing your body to
run without any fuel. Before you exercise or do
any physical activity, always eat a light snack
such as an apple.

2. Relying on energy bars and drinks.

Although they are fine every once in a while, they
don't deliver the antioxidants you need to prevent
cancer. Fruits and vegetables are your best bets,
as they are loaded in vitamins, minerals, fluid,
and fiber.

3. Skipping breakfast.

Skipping breakfast is never a good idea, as
breakfast starts the day. Your body needs fuel
as soon as possible, and without it, you'll be
hungry throughout the day.

4. Low carb diets.

Your body needs carbohydrates for your muscles and
the storing of energy.

5. Eating what you want.

Eating healthy and exercising doesn't give you an
all access pass to eat anything you want. Everyone
needs the same nutrients whether they exercise or
not, as well as fruits and vegetables.

6. Not enough calories

Although losing weight involves calories, losing
it too quickly is never safe. What you should do,
is aim for 1 - 2 pounds a week. Always make sure
that you are getting enough calories to keep your
body operating smoothly. If you start dropping
weight too fast, eat a bit more food.

7. Skip soda and alcohol.

Water, milk, and juice is the best to drink for
active people. You should drink often, and not
require on thirst to be an indicator. By the time
you get thirsty, your body is already running a
bit too low.

Changing how you eat is always a great step
towards healthy eating and it will affect how your
body performs. The healthier you eat, you better
you'll feel. No matter how old you may be, healthy
eating is something you should strive for. Once
you give it a chance, you'll see in no time at
all just how much it can change your life - for the
better

Choosing The Right Exercise For You

The type of exercise you do all depends on you and
what you like to do. Do you hate paying
membership fees or you prefer to buy excercise equipments.

If you choose something that you don't like to do,
you aren't going to keep doing it for a long period
of time. Give it some thought - if you don't like
jogging, you aren't going to get up at 6 AM and go
running. If you can't find something you like to
do, choose something you hate the least, which will
normally be walking.

Walking is great exercise, as it suits all levels
of fitness. Anyone can start a walking program at
any time, it's normally the intensity and duration
that differs. Walking is also a social exercise,
as it isn't difficult to find a training partner
to chat with while you exercise. Walking with a
partner will also make time go by faster.

No matter what exercise you choose, you should
start at a low level of intensity and build it up
over a period of weeks, which is essential to the
longevity of your exercise program. If you start
off too hard, you could end up with an injury
which will require time off to get over.

If you are really in bad shape, you should start
off by walking for 10 minutes each day. Then,
increase it by 5 minutes every 2 weeks. To make
things more interesting, you should try walking
a different course every few days. You can also
roster a different friend to walk with you each
day of the week.

If walking isn't your thing, then you may want
to try a fitness center. They have loads of
variety and normally have trainers on hand to
answer any questions you may have. When you
choose a fitness center, make sure that they give
good service.

If they aren't willing to treat you well before
you join, then they certainly won't after you
join. You should also make sure that the equipment
they use is well taken care of. It's easy to
find out, as all you have to do is listen to the
machines. If they squeak a lot or make noise,
then chances are they aren't being taken care of.

If you still aren't sure what you should do, then
you should look into golf or tennis. Both are
good social activities in most areas, and you can
even meet new friends. Tennis is great for fitness
although it isn't for someone who is just starting
out. If you haven't exercised in a long time,
then golf may be the best activity for you.
